Our Services
The power of null and should the response be two state or three state – very simple concept but always forgotten.
For example, when collecting clinical data where the answer expected is yes/no, most of the developers use a two-state (a bit field) to capture the user response. We always recommend and capture data as Yes/No/Null. This is the three-state response. When the field has a null or blank, it means the question was never responded to. For reporting purposes, it may be treated as no, but that is not good for data integrity. It is very important to capture and depict the data entry accurately.
